A woman and her young child are fortunate to be alive after a violent two-vehicle collision on Molynes Road in St. Andrew, an incident that has reignited concerns about dangerous overtaking and reckless driving on one of Kingston’s busiest roadways.
The crash, which occurred during heavy traffic, reportedly unfolded when the driver of a black vehicle attempted to overtake a long line of slow-moving vehicles. Witnesses at the scene claimed the motorist crossed into the path of oncoming traffic, leaving little to no time for the approaching blue Honda Fit Hybrid carrying a woman and her child to avoid the collision.

Photos taken shortly after the crash show both vehicles with catastrophic front-end damage. The blue Honda Fit sustained severe destruction to its driver’s side front corner, with the wheel ripped apart, airbags fully deployed, and the driver’s door heavily crushed.
